David Huband has written four short films: THE DANE, which won the 1999 Gemini Award for Best Short Dramatic film, as well as The Gold Award for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 1998 Flagstaff International Film Festival; JOURNEY OF HOPE, a mock-documentary about eye-line actors; JIMMY PACHECO, a tale of two inept kidnappers, starring Henry Czerny; and OSAMAHUNT. He also co-wrote the short film, 7 GATES. Mr. Huband was a contributing writer for the comedy series YB NORMAL?, and for the CBC’s SKETCHCOM. Mr. Huband also wrote the script for the CBC Radio Morningside Drama, THE “Y” FILES. He has written two comedy revues produced in New York: NORTHERN LIGHTS AND LOOSE WIRES, and EINSTEIN WAS AN ORPHAN, and the 1992 Toronto Fringe Festival play, THE LINCOLN SHOW. Mr. Huband wrote a 1/2 hour episode for the television series, THE UNPROFESSIONALS, which was broadcast on The Comedy Network in 2001. Mr. Huband also wrote a series of twenty monologues for RaptorsTV, entitled, Basketball Shorts, and a series of twenty Coach Monologues for the NHL Network. Inspired by the success of The Dane, Mr. Huband adapted nine more of Shakespeare’s plays into short films as part of a three episode series on The Comedy Network entitled, The Shakeyspeare Comedy Show . Mr. Huband’s most recent work is a five episode comedy web series entitled Getting Down, about two mattress salesmen. It can currently be seen on funnyordie.com.
