Nelson Terry

Nelson Terry is killing the mobsters who were responsible for the murder of his mother and father years ago after a heist gone bad. As he nears the end of his list, he gets into a fender bender with Lara Volkova, a stripper who assists the mob in recruiting new girls. She insists on paying for the damage and tells Nelson to meet her at a diner the following day. He sees her with Harrick, who works for the mob, and follows them to her apartment where Harrick had just raped her.

Meanwhile, homicide detectives Daniel Orozco and Mary "Maz" Mazchuzchek are trying, and failing, to find the killer of the former mobsters. Orozco's marriage has failed and Maz works to keep him afloat. He is so caught up in failings that he does not see that Maz adores him.

Nelson begins a tentative and halting relationship with Lara, meeting her daughter Katie, who loves him, and her upstairs neighbor, Olga, who is suspicious of him. Olga voices her concern to Slava, the leader of the local mob. Slava sends Harrick to threaten Nelson. Nelson kills Harrick.

Slava beats up Lara and when Nelson finds out that he threatened Katie's life, he goes to retrieve her from Olga. He ends up killing Olga violently, attracting a lot of attention from the news, mob, and police. He hides Katie with a downstairs neighbor, Judy.

Maz and Orozco connect Nelson to his parent's death and realize he's the tie between the murders.

Slava holds Lara and tells Nelson to come to the club with Katie. Nelson arrives alone. He ends up killing the mobsters and himself with a bomb made from the C-4 from the mob heist years before. Maz and Orozco arrive just as the bomb goes off.
