A familiar story

Posted: May 18, 2012

I stopped by to read this script after the beginning of the review on the Talentville\'s home page caught my eye. It was an easy read, an hour, at most, congrats on that. You have a great way with words going fro one scene to the other easily and the reading was that easy because of your smart writing. I think that the execution of the concept is good, funny, contemporary. I used to sell timeshare myself and the realistic side of the script, showing the everyday life of the timeshare sellers, though exaggerated to suit a comedy, reminded me ...

At last something refreshing on the modern slavery!

Posted: May 03, 2012

Thank you for sharing this wonderful read with me. After watching/reading few movies about \"Robinson Crusoe’s” type of survival adventures, I could not imagine something original, out of the box, could be possibly written in this same vein. Also, it is true that the modern slavery is rarely spoken of, but it doesn\'t mean that it doesn\'t exist, and this story is a perfect example that there will always be lords as long as some people accept to be treated like slaves, honest and faithful, but slaves anyway. You did a great job building al...

Great educational story for young and for old!

When you think that everything has been done in animation, here comes Castaway Dog, telling us a wonderful story of right and wrong. With clearly distinctive voices for its characters, perfectly imagined faraway lands where aliens, humans and animals work together to show us that the good will and friendship can change the world. Excellent, visual writing style constantly moves the story forward. Being a Blake Snyder’s system’s follower, I found the structure of the screenplay close to perfect, with clear act breaks and well timed mid-poin...

Refreshing approach to a friendship

Hi, first of all, I must say that I really enjoyed your story - it is rare that I keep on reading in one gulp, and this time I did. You have a very palatable writing style, fresh and easy, making the read flow. I’m not sure that the subject of the play would show well on screen. Now that the whole world fights smoking in general and smoking weed in particular, it would be odd to see characters smoking joints on screen for two hours… Your stories A and B flow together well, fit into the structure perfectly and culminate simultaneously. The...

Who could think that Confederate War would hold my attention long after the high school?

Posted: Nov 11, 2011

What a fine piece of writing you have there! I\'m not American, and I’m not particularly fond of historical movies neither, especially those with any kind of war involved. Nevertheless, I have studied the Confederate War, and never thought I could stumble across such a fresh perspective of a well-beaten topic. The characters are delicately crafted into a perfectly structured story that has it all. I was preparing to read this script (some 125 pages, please!) over the weekend, but instead I found myself hurrying towards the end, hungry to k...

Dans le pays des aveugles, le borgne est roi.

I love it when foreign languages are used in scripts. Adds flavor to the read. But - it always has to be clearly understandable. I believe, when in production, the titles will be put over for translation, but, in the meantime, don\'t assume that the reader will speak enough Spanish to understand all the action. Mt Spanish is pretty basic, and while I successfully scrambled though most of the dialogue in Spanish, the final scene lost its essence because I could not understand anything and kept on wanting to reach for my dictionnary or drop it al...
