Has anyone else gotten one of these?

I know I'm guilty of not having been on here in a while, but this is one heck of a way to get me back! I guess Talentville must have hit the big time to attract trolls of this nature. In any event, I'll hang out and try to become more active again... just not with Miss Viviana (or whatever his/her real name is ;)

Cut and paste of the email I got (was apparently sent to multiple undisclosed recipients):

I like your profile in this community network and I think you are a nice person. Can we get in contact? I'm sorry if i am embarrassing you, i shall explain all about myself including my pictures. please you can write to me ( ) not in this site because i am a new in this community and i don't visit this site often, I'd like to get to know you if you don't mind. Please There is something important i want to tell you
thanks & regards
Miss viviana.

Well, it wasn't sent to all that many of the members (we limit Tourist emails and friend requests per day for a reason!), but the member in question has obviously been deleted from the site and will only be a bother if he/she registers under a different email.  As for why anyone would try to use a screenwriting site to send out a few quick spams I cannot say, but it may be that when the member hit the email limit and realized that sending out a message to a thousand folks wasn't gonna happen at Talentville, that member moved on to some other site where emails are not controlled.

Just a note regarding spammers.  When you post your email address on the cover page of your screenplay, it pretty much defeats the purpose of our not showing personal email addresses at the site.

THUS:  I recommend that when you upload a screenplay to our Library, you omit your email address and just have interested readers contact you through the site.  Anyone can sign up with just an email address and password, so if they look over the scripts and jot down email addresses, there isn't much we can do about that.  I will be sure that nowhere in the site, shown or otherwise, will email addresses be displayed or stored, but everyone has to help out to ensure that nobody can circumvent that protection and grab your email address.

I've received this same message on three separate occasions since I joined Talentville last September. Thanks for the tip about keeping my e-mail off the title page of my script -- it had honestly never even occurred to me to pull it off before I uploaded the script.

Maybe they like girls! I'm not sure how they got my email since I don't currently have anything uploaded and I can't see it anywhere on my profile. Of course I could be missing something too...
