How long does it take to get reviewed?

Hi all,

I uploaded my first script on Talentville today - a 1-hour TV pilot.

I bought 3 reviews to start with. As I'm sure everyone is, I'm eager to see what kind feedback I get.

Question: How long does it normally take to get purchased reviews on Talentville back from readers? Does it vary depending on how many you bought? If you've purchased more reviews are you more heavily featured in the assignment rotation (i.e. series or parallel)? Is it different for TV as opposed to screenplays?

I'm curious to hear what other people's experiences are with buying assigned reviews.

When it's selected, features get 7 days, pilots 6, and shorts 5. But the reviewer can ask for 3 more days.

The wait would be before it's assigned. I don't know if number of reviews puts you at the front, and most people including pretty much all citizens are buying multiple reviews at once. However, when your script is assigned and then dropped, I know that moves your script to the front of the line. Citizens pick their reviews, so that only applies to part of the readers.

You may want to look around the site and reach out to writers you might think are into your script's genre.

Hi Ian,

Be patient.  I know you are excited to see what people think about your writing.

While  I can't speak for everyone here, I'm middle aged, employed full-time, and have a family that's seen quite a bit of illness this year so it usually takes me the full 7 to 10 days to review something.  And I've even had to drop, maybe, one-in-eight or nine assignments in the last half year, just because something happens in my family life or work life that unexpectedly but suddenly vacuums up all my time for maybe 3 days to two weeks.

Best of luck!

In addition to the good advice you've gotten already, there's a new feature on Talentville now to help you with when your script was assigned, and when it is due back.  That helps you know when/if it has been picked up.  If you go to your script look on the left side for Review Statistics.  It will tell you how many reviews have been assigned, when due back, how many not yet assigned, etc.
