Currently work as a Technical Writer and Document Imaging Specialist at Austin Community College in Austin Tx.
Hobbies include Aikido, a japanese martial art, and screenwriting of course.
I have two completed scripts of the SciFi/Action/Horror variety, a third being written.
My technical writing education (basically that means I write stereo instructions) gave me a very descriptive and to-the-point writing style, while my lifelong love of horror movies and comics taught me what makes a compelling story.
I'll never be caught dead writing anything that starts with "Teens on a roadtrip in the middle of nowhere."
The best advice I got in crafting a story, was in my screenwriting class in college. My characters were bland, and the professor said "Your protagonist shouldn't start out perfect and stay that way. A good story is about someone who is wrong, and you tell how they got right."
All time favorites:
John Carpenter's The Thing
Big trouble in little China
Ninja Scroll
The Iron Giant
