Raised in Ontario by respectable, hardworkingparents, Peg learned the basic
values of treating others well and giving her best effort in everything she does.
Westar Mining, a private sector employer, recognized her writing ability, and
assigned a mentor to teach her about corporate communications. Ever since,
Peg has made her living as a writer.
She has always been an entrepreneur, starting as a kid selling ‘turkeys’ carved
out of the solid blocks of snow that are created by Northern Ontario winds.
Even while employed, she has always run her own business, and submersed herself into the film industry for a time in Victoria,BC. She not only wrote scripts, but produced short films as well. She also attained funding from Telefilm Canada for the development of a feature whistle-blower script.
In Vancouver, she wrote screenplays with a writing partner, and although never
produced, it was fabulous training, and she gained representation with the Gerald
K. Smith Agency in L.A. Peg is also a member of the Writers Guild of Canada.
Currently she has a script on the market with comedy director Tom Logan attached, and a thriller in rewrites. She is also adapting a children's fantasy novel.
In 2011 she moved to Okotoks, AB to be nearer her children and grandchildren
in the Calgary area. She was delighted to find that so many businesses needed
writing assistance, and Writer for Hire Ltd was born.
