About the Authors
SUSAN DYER earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from U.C.L.A. before going on to doctoral studies at USC film school. She served as coproducer of the ACADEMY AWARD-nominated short LIVE OR LET DIE, as associate producer of the EMMY-nominated SCREENWRITERS series, and has worked on various projects for DAVID L. WOLPER, ABRAHAM POLONSKY, HESPER ANDERSON and many others. She served as Director of Public Relations for Providence Hospital Washington, DC, Director of Marketing Communications for Children's National Medical Center, and performed writing and consulting through her company Word and Image. An avid equestrian in her early years, Susan brings a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to this story.
JAMES REID earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English from Elon University, then spent four years in The George Washington University’s documentary film program, working overseas on population and health projects in Africa, Asia, Central and South America, Indonesia, and the Philippines. He then spent two years on the production team of several public television series, including THE SHORT STORY featuring ROBERT PROSKY. He served for ten years as Vice President of Productions at SCREEN PRESENTATIONS, INC in Washington, DC, serving as director, cinematographer, and editor on more than a hundred film and television programs which were honored with awards including the ADDY. He currently writes and produces public information programs through his production company, THORNHILL COMMUNICATIONS, which has won numerous TELLY Awards, Communicator Awards, Videographer Awards, and many others.
