The Story Project empowers today's middle school youth by encouraging them through our project-based curriculum to tell us their stories using many of today's media devices as tools, the very ones that kids already feel so comfortable with. Add professional "?Hollywood" storytellers to the equation as in-class mentors and our students suddenly blossom on a journey of discovery and self-expression in an artistic, on site, after-school setting.
What can a class of 15 Story Project middle schoolers achieve in just 12 weeks?
Write, produce and perform original: short films, stage plays, documentaries and puppet shows. Create their own board game, spoken word / poetry, fables and song lyrics. Tell stories through photography, animation, and storyboarding while, of course, having a great time in the process.
