How'd That Not Sell - Pilot

Paul works for his father’s ad agency with his best friend John as part of an unsuccessful creative team who has never sold a commercial because they always take a joke or pun way too far. The pair’s immaturity and bizarre sense of humor often conflicts with social norms, adversely affecting their jobs and private lives, especially when a woman is concerned.

The duo relies on George, their nemesis from sales and accounting, to sell their ill-fated commercials. Try as he might, George cannot convince the boys to do more conventional commercials and is working on his third ulcer from all the battles. In the series pilot, Paul and John hire an intern, Kim, who knows the advertising business far better than they do and, like George, she can’t bring the pair back to reality.

After an unfortunate break-up scene involving a near death experience choking on a shard of ice in an effort to get a water boy fired, Paul decides it’s time to change his ways and comes up with his most mature commercial yet… for adult diapers. As he proudly tells of his revelation back at the office, George slips on a toy truck and falls on Paul’s Captain Planet action figure. At the hospital Paul realizes his journey is just beginning, but John quickly has him backsliding to his old ways.
