The New School

Carol "Old School" O'Connell, an aged and disconnected teacher, becomes convinced that a new special education student is plotting a school shooting. In the aftermath of a mass-killing at a nearby Boston high-school that critically wounds a former student, Carol is spooked by a disturbing drawing she finds in her classroom but there is little follow-through by administration.

After Carol’s student verbally threatens to kill everyone, his outburst is determined to be a manifestation of his disability and he remains at the school. Carol decides to follow him on social media in order to investigate what she believes to be his threatening plan.

After piecing together circumstantial evidence, a recently suspended Carol is convinced that the shooting is imminent so, fearing that the police won’t reach the rural school in time, she rushes there with her recently purchased pistol to prevent a potential massacre. Carol must stop him in order to save the school- that is, if she is right about his intentions.
