The Second Unit

The Second Unit is a movie within a movie. Frustrated film director Tim Easton reluctantly accepts a second unit assignment on a blockbuster super hero movie. While on location in the desert, he recognizes the disgraced and reclusive actor John Davey. John has been hiding out in the remote area after leaving Hollywood following his acquittal for killing his wife during a drunken argument. Seeing his chance, Tim convinces John to star in a documentary about his tumultuous life and career. John agrees on the condition that Tim accompanies him on a quest to retrieve a priceless piece of stolen art.
