First of all, Hello!
I've been writing short stories, poetry and novellas as a hobby for many years and have actively concentrated on scriptwriting for 6 months or so. This was thanks to a friend commenting that one of my short stories would work really well on screen. After I tried it I really liked the process, how you can cut straight to the chase of a scene, sometimes it only takes one line to establish a setting and then you dive right in with dialogue. It felt so refreshing coming from a more 'scholarly' background.
Being new to scriptwriting I'm really keen to learn every aspect of it and I've come a long way baby! just in the last few months. My first script read like a Director's cut complete with camera angles and actors' instructions all over the place. The internet really has slapped me into better shape fast and I'm hoping for more slapping here.
Why am I here? Well, I feel like I've exhausted my friends' patience for reading my work and quite frankly their feedback wasn't harsh or specific enough. Sometimes I would know there was something wrong with a certain scene and they would agree, but neither of us could figure out what it was. I do have one friend who has studied scriptwriting and he has proven invaluable but I also don't want to turn him into my own personal reader. So, internet to the rescue!
Even if I only get one good suggestion from a review of my own work I feel it's money well spent.
Well, if you read all that you can date my sister any time! ;)
