I'm a former US government employee (currently living in Vienna, Austria) who used to write classified reports, including items for the President's Daily Brief. After I resigned to start a family, I discovered a passion for writing fiction. I found that some of the skills used in writing for the consumption of US policymakers (concise language and the ability to receive feedback/criticism with grace) dovetail with the skills needed to write screenplays. As of November 2014, I've written five screenplays. A couple of those have been entered into contests and made it to the finals. Petrified won the Family category and got an overall 8th place in the 2012 Emerging Screenwriters contest. The genres of the screenplays are all different, but take many of their themes or their inspiration from my nomadic life as the wife of a US diplomat.
