I have a very unique idea for a film that I'm absolutely 100% convinced will be a sure blockbuster hit much on the level of "The Passion of the Christ". The working title of the film is "John the Baptist". The basic idea is that Jesus, contrary to popular belief, 1. did NOT come to die, and 2. that John the Baptist actually was instrumental in blocking Jesus' access to the religious leadership of the day. This made it impossible for Him to continue his mission, which was to bring the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth IN HIS LIFETIME. This can all be easily and effortlessly proven in a matter of minutes directly from the Bible. Essentially, there is a much more torrid and compelling human drama "hiding in plain sight" DIRECTLY behind the commonly-accepted story, Without changing one single word of the text. I'm on page 100 of the screenplay now, and I really need someone with good New Testament understanding who is not married to conventional interpretations of it, to help me bring this to the screen.
