I may as well be candid and disclose that I'm Bi-polar. I've been told that Bi-polars are intelligent, sensitive, extremely creative and highly intuitive. I'm stagnating in my life so I'm taking risks by pursuing my lifetime dream. My lifetime dream is to write a professional screenplay comedy based on my life. I've been told that I'm a very nice person so I'm writing a simple comedy about someone who helps people.I've attended local Buffalo screenwriting clubs and learned how expensive it is to try to pitch your screenplay (that's only if you have actually completed it.)Unfortunately I have very limited financial resources. I simply cannot afford to travel across the country to film festivals. I bought a new laptop computer last year and downloaded free screenwriting software. (Which I don't know how to use.) I understand using Final Draft is mandatory but I can't afford it.(Not that I would know how to use that software anyway as well.) I'm looking for a friend that won't charge me for their time. I only have a story outline and tons of notes. I've been chasing my tail , spinning my wheels for years, hitting dead ends most of my life. I would love nothing but to believe in the Power of Positively Thinking and Daily Affirmations all day long but usually life throws me a curve ball(usually money related.)I'll give you an analogy ,Its like I finally was able to afford the latest video game but no one wants to come over to my house to play with me. I love Star Trek and got to meet Gene Roddenbury. He was a very nice man.I don't want to sound totally unrealistic but if I get what I want it's going to help people I don't even know. I'm at an age in my life where I want to feel useful. I want to make my own contribution to society. I'm not writing my life story to meet movie stars. I'm writing my life story to show my know-it-all oldest brother John that there is more than one way to become successful. Usually in order to write successful comedies ,it takes a team of writers (aka Dick Van Dyke,Morey Amsterdam,Rose Marie.) You wouldn't tear down each other's story ideas but build them up. If life were like the movies someone would come over to my house and help me write my story. Hollywood is always telling people to believe in themselves, they never tell you that you need Fort Knox to make that dream real. That's not fair.
