When I heard about the Bad Robot Fellowship, I smiled - and got my fingers moving so I could submit. Thank you for your consideration.
I am a Guy Hanks/Marvin Miller Program fellow (better known as the Cosby Program). I’ve written both film and TV scripts. Recently, I garnered very positive feedback from some reputable film and TV companies. Now, I’m looking to expand my knowledge on the production side.
My early days in L.A. included a stay at a ratty motel with a TV that played one fuzzy channel, an unintentionally u-shaped bed, a puddle of dirty water that passed as a swimming pool - and a snack machine that stole my money with one snack left (that wouldn’t drop into my hungry hands absent the use of a sledgehammer and a blow torch).
I’m not giving up.
Some people think it was a fearless decision to come to L.A. That’s my banner. I take writing seriously, and work at it every day to become the best at what I do. Bad Robot has been successful because this is your approach.
I have creativity, passion, a strong will, and a commitment to learning. Most important is that I have a daughter, who my wife and I have to show, by example, that anything worth having is worth fighting for. I’m determined to make myself proud, make them proud and, in so doing, make proud anyone who gives me a chance.
Opportunities like this fellowship are rare. After a few years of experience - and an even tougher skin - I realize just how rare. My appreciation for this truth runs deep.
I’m not giving up.
