Hi, I am Mirah, and if you have ever stayed up until 2 a.m. because a character would not let you close the book, we already understand each other.
I am a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, where I earned my B.A. in Literature and Writing, a degree that taught me to read closely and never confuse polish with personality. For nearly a decade, I have been editing fiction and nonfiction manuscripts of every length: novels that span generations, memoirs that bleed truth, and screenplays that live or die on a single line of dialogue. I have helped writers take their projects from rough draft to industry production readiness, and many of the writers I have worked with have entered contests and come home with placements, prizes, and the kind of validation that opens doors. I also help writers build the package around the script: loglines that hook in one breath, synopses that sell the story without spoiling its heart, and query letters that sound like a person rather than a pitch machine.
My shelves are crowded with genres, and I love them all for different reasons. Action and Adventure because momentum is a craft. Family stories because the quietest scenes carry the heaviest weight. Faith because sincerity must never be mistaken for softness. Drama, Crime Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, Romance, Science Fiction, Romantic Comedy, Horror, Thriller and Suspense, each has its own way of keeping a reader up at night. I work fluidly across screenwriting and television, and I specialize in adaptation: turning a novel into a screenplay, expanding a script into prose, or moving a story from one format to another without losing its soul.
I work professionally in the software the industry actually uses, including Final Draft, Movie Magic Screenwriter, Celtx, Fade In, WriterDuet, and Scrivener, so your project comes back properly formatted, production ready, and easy to submit.
Here is how I work. Before I touch a single line, I take time to understand your vision: what the story means to you, what you want the audience to feel, and what success looks like for this project. Then I get to work as an editor, dialogue editor, script consultant, story analyst, and story editor: sharpening structure, tuning dialogue until subtext hums underneath it, catching the sagging middle act, and protecting your voice from page one to the final polish. I communicate clearly, I deliver on deadline without sacrificing quality, and I tell you the truth with warmth, because notes only work when you feel safe enough to take risks.
I will not sand off your edges or smooth your strangeness into something generic. I sharpen what is distinctive, repair what is confusing, and treat every manuscript with the same care I would want for my own.
Every story I have ever loved had someone behind it who refused to give up on it. I would be honored to be that person for yours.
If you have a manuscript, a script, or an idea that keeps tapping you on the shoulder, give me a shout
