Greetings!
I have always had a fascination with writing since high school, but I never knew exactly what style of writing I wanted to pursue whether it was journalism, short story, poetry, etc... One day I decided to try and write a screenplay considering I have always enjoyed all types of movies from independent to main stream. My first script was attempted with Word (not at all proper formatting), but as I realized that this was what I wanted to write, I decided to craft my work properly. I purchased my first screenwriting software Movie Magic and have worked with it ever since which I prefer over Final Draft. I also found myself reading every book I could get my hands on to learn more about the structure and art of screenwriting. It helped open my eyes and mind to watching and learning from various movies including foreign films, shorts, indies, and main streams. I have now been writing screenplays since 2002 after high school. I have written (4) feature length screenplays along with (10) shorts. Some have been entered into contests while others have been mainly to help with my craft. I am always open to writing anything that comes to mind, but my main focus has always been towards dramas, important issues, and anything else that I would find interesting from sports, westerns, martial arts, horror, Crime, etc... I will always write, because it is what I love. And, I hope one day to be able to tell my stories to the wide world of film lovers. If there's any interest in discussion, feel free to contact me. I would love to discuss with other film enthusiasts.
Sincerely,
Russell C. Brackett
