Ryan Spindell was born in the wilderness of Maine and raised in the swamps of Florida, so if you have any questions about living in he sticks, he’s your man. After graduating with a double major in graphic design and photography from Florida State University, he went on to work as a field photographer for both ABC and NBC News. In 2005 Ryan was invited to the FSU graduate film conservatory where he wrote and directed five short films, including a finalist in the Coke-a-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker Awards and his thesis film Kirksdale. Kirksdale premiered at Tribeca went on to screen in over sixty major festivals worldwide winning dozens of top awards including Best Short Film, Best Screenplay and Best In Fest. Kirksdale was eventually optioned by Valhalla Motion Pictures to be adapted into a feature with Ryan attached to direct.
Ryan currently resides in Los Angeles where he works as a writer, director and graphic designer. His feature screenplay Shell, was selected by the Blood List as one of the best horror scripts of 2010.
Most recently, Ryan has finished a new short film, The Root of The Problem, and is gearing up to make his feature debut with The Mortuary Collection, a film he will both write and direct.
