The headline in this morning’s Christmastown Chronicle: “CIVIL WAR AT THE NORTH POLE!”
The reindeer stable hand leads the Christmastown elves in a war against the evil Ice Wizard plotting to steal the operation from Ol’ Nick.
When the trusted Ice Wizard tries to steal Christmas from ol’ Nick, the only one who may be able to save the elves of Christmastown is the disgruntled stable hand.
Santa’s not paying much attention to the toy making biz these days. His mind is preoccupied with the disappearance of his young wife, Holly Kringle. Luckily, Santa’s right hand, the Ice Wizard Glazier and his loyal Snow Dwarves are overseeing the operation while Santa attends to other matters. At least that’s what Santa believes.
The business of Christmas ain’t all fun and games, nor is it child’s play. Glazier brought his Snow Dwarf army to protect Christmastown in the wake of a devastating attack by the ferocious Snowbeast.
In reality, the Ice Wizard’s evil plan is to co-opt the Christmas toy biz, destroy Santa and commercialize it even more so than he already has. He’s slowly tightened his grip on Santa’s operation, and now that Mrs. Claus has been kidnapped, it seems nothing stands in his way.
The elves are mad as hell. Ever since the Ice Wizard has come into the picture, their working conditions have disintegrated miserably. Poor light, old facilities and tools. Drab carols drone away over Christmastown speakers. They never get a chance to speak with the Big Guy anymore, now that the Ice Wizard and those oppressive Snow Dwarves moved Santa out of Christmastown and up to Yule Castle in the nearby mountains.
Derry is the one elf with the moxie to stand up to Glazier. He’s got a literally crappy job in the stables, and he’s on the outs with the other elves. Things don’t get cozier for him when his strong willed girlfriend Briana attempts to unionize the elves against Glazier’s oppressive control.
It all comes to a head when Glazier hears about a mythical Crystal Snowflake rumored to be the source of Nick’s position as Father Christmas. He devises a scheme to send Nick on a wild goose chase to find Holly, leaving the elves to fend for themselves.
Obsessed with finding the Snowflake, it’s not long before Glazier has imprisoned Briana and commissions his Snow Dwarf army to lay siege to Christmastown to force Derry and the elves to give it up.
What follows is what happens when “Bad Santa” meets “The Lord of the Rings” on a frozen battlefield.
