The Weight

With a week to go before Christmas, Charlotte receives word from her brother that their grandmother has passed away, and Mother has requested her presence in Los Angeles for the funeral. Having moved to the Washington, DC area years before to escape her extended family's often crazy tendencies, Charlotte is understandably dreading the journey. Her anxiety is only compounded when her husband insists that she ask her estranged son, Sean, to accompany her on the trip. Surprisingly, Sean agrees, and with the aid of a few too many glasses of wine, a joint or two, and a .38 caliber pistol, the two brave the family together for the first time in almost a decade.
