Episode Synopsis

Noel's patient, Emma, becomes ill after Emma's admirer revives an ancient Japanese possession ritual summoning the Inugami. Rationalizing Emma's illness in western medical terms hits a roadblock when Emma speaks about things only Pualani would know. Forced to humble herself and seek the advice of a Japanese Spiritual Medium, she balks at the ritual needed to release Emma from the inugami, once again resorting to western rationalization. Her choice to not adhere to the ritual proves deadly and she is left to suffer the consequences of her disbelief, fortifying the Series Theme: Reality does not require belief to demand responsibility.
