There has been a number of space faring adventure shows such as “Star Trek” and “Babylon 5”. A classic space adventure with deep themes was the reinvented “Battlestar: Galactica” which revolutionized what a sci-fi TV series could be. We intend to further revolutionize what sci-fi TV series can be. At its core “Dark Empire” is a drama. We won’t try to dazzle you with a bunch of alien races short of the adversaries of the Terran Empire the Arachnoids. We won’t try to dazzle you with a bunch of cool special effects. We won’t try to wow you a bunch of pseudo-technobabble. What we will do is tell stories of people.
Dark Empire chronicles the trials of Emperor Nomar Kendrapall as he struggles maintain control over the colonies of the Terran Empire in the 31st century. His challenges will come from a rival Houses who jockey for power, his own son who, unbeknownst to him, is running an illegal drug trade, and the constant threat of war from the rival Arachnoid Hegemony. There will be a number of subplots involved. With the concept of rival Houses there will be the inevitable comparisons to Game of Thrones. Some will call this show “Game of Thrones in space”. The show is not Game of Thrones. The center of the show will always be the Kendrapall family. The decisions they make will have repercussions throughout the Empire.
