ANNA wants to do just one gig with her up-and-coming punk band before she quits music, but her father ERIC sees music as a reminder of his late wife. However, when the 'last gig' is finished and Anna plays one of her own pop-style songs, the band's fans turn into raving lunatics and the music begins to warp the very beings and reality around it.

After a group of rabid people barges into Anna's home, Eric shoots them in self-defense. Anna and Eric give a report at the police station. The 'ear-wormed' people already spread the song around the small town, ultimately turning some of the policemen via the radio system. Anna escapes the Police Department with Officer FRANK and her not-boyfriend CHRIS into a school where they hatch a plan to defeat the creatures and save their small rural town.
