Inspired from her vision of hope, the young widowed owner of a lodge in Alaska invites all who come to step out of their realities and discover the unknown beauty of their own greatness. This is where it begins, this is Discovery Point.
Set within the panorama of Alaska, Discovery Point Lodge was built from a vision that invites young people to step out of their realities and into the unknown beauty of their greatness.
Grace Carter, 40's, the widowed owner of the lodge, is an incredible woman of substance and beauty, who runs the lodge with her mother and friends.
All from different areas across America, six teenagers come to the land of the midnight sun and discover that in life they must pursue opportunity, in doing so it will change their lives and everyone else's too.
Marcus DuBois, 17, from New Orleans, an orphaned survivor of Katrina, lives in a FEMA trailer with his grandmother.
Dante Richards, 13, from the inner city of Los Angeles, made a promise to his mother that he wouldn't die in Alaska, one promise he intends to keep.
Maya, 16, from NY, Luis, 15, from Miami, Joseph, 16, from Kansas and Charlene, 17, from Texas, each with distinct and relatable characters they bring with them their disadvantaged, loving and privileged realities.
Evelyn Lancaster, 60's, is Grace's mother who still holds onto her youth empowered by the freedom of age. Takota, 60's, a long time family friend and the lodges' caretaker, whose ancient wisdom and spiritual guidance is tested with these six newcomers.
Kaden McKrae, 40's, has charm with his ease of confidence and his Marlboro Man looks. He's also the lodge's pilot, who discovers his own awakening in the giving of his heart.
Their adventures begin from onboard the yacht, the GraySeas-Gold, and the emerald waters of Discovery Bay. The group experience nature's glory, in the sea life that come to romp, eagles soaring and the vast wilderness that surrounds them. Along the shore they observe a sea cave with warning signs posted all around it. When Marcus asks Grace about the cave, she adamantly warns them away. The question sparks the terrible memory of four years earlier when her husband, Clayton, tragically drowns while attempting to explore that very cave that he suspected may have gold stashed in it.
Despite the warning signs and Grace's reaction, Marcus gathers his five newfound friends and they secretly begin to prepare a quest, unaware of a crazy, smelly old codger who watches their every move with seemingly disapproval from the woods.
Adventures and humorous antics continue while the beauty of Alaska unfolds before the six as they learn to navigate the wilderness, kayak on the ocean, confront wild animals and enjoy the comforts of the lodge.
When Kaden and Grace leave for the day, Evelyn and Takota are left in charge. The six take advantage and set their plan of exploring the cave into action.
Their adventure to unravel the mystery of the forbidden cave begins, but they are unaware that fate is about to slip through their hands, putting them in suspenseful danger where they are forced to make quick and deadly decisions. Will they succeed in finding what they want or will the consequences end up costing them more than they bargained for?
The end of the story follows up one year later. Each of the teens and everyone at Discovery Point has been affected by their adventure in their own way. One that leaves the audience inspired with the will that you must believe it to achieve it.
