Active ✔ PDFAs a growing mountain town becomes a sanctuary for Dust Bowl refugees, the town's leadership exploits the influx for human trafficking. When the town's Mayor is assassinated, a discredited politician and vigilante cowboy look to redeem themselves within a power vacuum of crime, corruption, sex slavery and a growing sinister cult.
Episode Synopsis
A discredited politician is reconnected with his family and an old friend. Two religious zealots look for a new home . A lone cowboy stows away in search of the man who once killed his father.
In a time period that includes the Dust Bowl, Great Depression and Prohibition, Dust builds a story world in the American West that has yet to be tapped. With all the violence and grit of a Western, the sexiness of an Action/Thriller, and the political intrigue of a Drama, this is a character driven franchise with great potential for mental real estate.
I'm fascinated by the ambiguity of morality. This piece, to me, represents just that. Our vices don't make us sinners, they make us human. We regret because we care. We are driven by instinct. We let ego get in the way of our rationality. We're willing to compromise our integrity for success. Life shouldn't be compartmentalized.
