Active ✔ PDFA dying woman must break the spell of her former Indian guru -- or risk having him follow her into the afterlife.
By 1980, the New Age movement had somehow turned a fringe, esoteric ideology into pop-culture coolness — and Jennifer Decker was not going to be left behind. Eighteen years old and in search of a “soul tribe”, Jennifer settles on an Indian guru and his red-clad followers as her North Star. When the group announces a headquarters move to the U.S., Jennifer’s path takes a jagged turn — from Seattle’s bright city lights to a dusty outpost carved across Oregon’s high desert. Jennifer throws herself into the desert compound and, in time, attracts the attention of the group’s ruling elite, one of whom asks her to join their exclusive security detail. The decision becomes a fateful one when Jennifer discovers the cell’s been ordered to gun down a government official. Unable to stop them, she braces for the unthinkable… But, ill-suited as assassins, the plot fails, sending the cell into disarray and Jennifer in an all-out race to alert the authorities. Her sentence served, she starts a new life, vowing to keep the guru’s orbit as far away as possible — until one day, in spite of her efforts, she is pulled back to Oregon.
Eternal Blessings centers on a young woman's journey of self-discovery; as she leaves her home for a religious sect, rises diligently through the ranks, then falls, unwittingly, to a cell of armed disciples loyal only to the sect's unhinged secretary (based on real events).
