The world's hottest pop star, Jade, is sick of being pushed into scandal by her handlers to promote her career. She walks out mid tour to rethink her life and be alone, but her fame forces her to one of the most isolated places on earth – the stunning Australian Outback.
Unaware of the vastness and dangers of the land she gets lost and is left fighting for her life.
Meanwhile, a young privileged Sydney man of aboriginal descent, Michael, has been laid off from his stockbroker's job and must comply with his mother's long standing wishes to visit his Grandfather and learn of his people and their traditional ways. When this tech savvy city dweller is dumped in the outback by his grandfather as a crash course in learning, the last thing he expected was to stumble upon the world's most famous star.
Jade automatically assumes Michael knows everything about survival in the outback and he in turn allows her to think he's so cut off from the modern world he knows nothing of her fame. Jade jumps at the chance to play the role of a regular girl and Michael, liking the way she sees him, does everything he can to maintain the image that he belongs in the harsh outback, with only his grandfather's notes as a guide.
When the lies are finally uncovered they each accuse the other of the bigger deception. They now regret confessing long held fears and secrets to each other and Jade assumes Michael will sell her out for the money the moment they get back to civilization. But what he does next will prove to Jade that he's fallen for her just as hard as she's fallen for him.
