Kain (14), a brilliant but broke student, gets suspended for skipping class to play basketball. When he discovers Thunder Elites—an elite program that turns young athletes into social media stars—is holding open trials, he lies to his parents and fights his way through a brutal tryout as everything is posted online. As the results drop, Kain's family bans him from basketball, right as he learns whether he made the cut.
