Mo vam Wolfe is currently a finalist in the International Indie Film and Screenplay Festival, AND is an Official Screenplay Selection in the Cannes World Film Festival.

Also noteworthy: Director Adam Michael has taken on another one of my screenplays, JFK Q&A and will begin filming near Cleveland as soon as we raise enough money. He already has a location secured for the one-location shoot.

So! Let’s get to it! Mo is a monster of a man in a small town, and loves to fight and laugh. Until he unwittingly fights a werewolf and kicks his… but he gets bitten during the fight. Full moons and vacuum cleaners are hell after that, but the mornings after full moons are worse, especially after a territorial vampire took advantage of his morning recovery weakness. Mo’s lycanthropic blood gets a swift revenge as it burns the vampire from the inside out, but not before the damage was done.

Through the years, he hides his secrets, no small task in a small town, especially when his human side does not show up in reflections, but his werewolf side does. Still, they call him their favorite perpetual bachelor because he reads fairy tales to children at the library. (Mo does a great wolf impersonation.) After decades, people begin to notice he isn’t aging, so he moves to the anonymity of New York and changes his name.

Settled into the Big Apple for decades and curating at a New York Numismatic museum, Mo lives in a top story penthouse. Alone. Which made meeting someone very understanding so sweet. A young, funny, seductive goth Wiccan. Along with her roommate Vanessa, Gothen pulls Mo out of his lonely routine and into a strange, sexy, supernatural relationship built around one impossible question: can witchcraft cure a monster, cleansing his body back to humanity? The two wiccans make honest efforts to do so, but their real plan is to take Mo’s accumulated wealth, and have fun along the way, including involving Mo in their plans for a caper to steal millions from another criminal.

That's Mo vam Wolfe, an original horror-comedy feature with clear franchise potential. (Mo is immortal. There are centuries of stories to tell.) I believe audiences will love Mo because he is not a brooding monster trying to be cool. He is funny, wounded, dangerous, decent, lonely, and deeply human. He is a creature who can fight entire front lines of football teams while laughing, but still worry about doing the right thing. The comedy comes from character, not parody: Mo’s awkward immortality, Gothen and Vanessa’s chaotic witchcraft, the absurd logistics of hiding a werewolf/vampire life in modern New York, and the constant tension between monster mayhem and emotional sincerity.

People might howl in terror - and laughter.
