GWENDOLIN, 20s, a naturally, strong willed idealist who’s been browbeaten by the patriarchal social norms of the early 1900s, lives with her mother, LADY CRACKNELL, 60s, a domineering traditionalist, in CRACKNELL MANOR, a once grand statement of aristocratic wealth, now falling into disrepair.
Much to Lady Cracknell’s displeasure, Gwen is dating the struggling magician, JACK, late-20s. Jack is a hard working and determined dreamer desperately searching for his big break before the love of his life gets married off to a wealthy Duke.
