A young woman from Guatemala gets caught trying to cross the US border illegally while her husband makes it through. She gets sent back to her country where she has no place to call her own. When she learns she is pregnant, she knows she has to cross over immediately to make her child a US citizen. This time she must attempt the 3000 mile journey, fighting off drug cartels, corrupt cops, border vigilantes and the US Border Patrol, on her own.
