After his wife's untimely death in a car accident, Detective Hawthorne is left alone trying to both uncover the nature of her demise while simultaneously caring for his three boys. When his time is split between work and family life, it quickly becomes apparent that neither is getting the full attention needed.
Hawthorne faces a tough decision: will he salvage his wife's fleeting reputation, or will he look after his fledgling boys? ...Or will he succeed at neither?
