THE HOOK

Warsaw, 1943.
The Nazis are preparing to empty the Jewish ghetto.
Mordechai Anielewicz is a young man who has lost almost everything—but he refuses to lose the people around him without a fight.
With his fearless best friend Shawn by his side and his younger sister Eden depending on him, Mordechai begins transforming ordinary people into an underground resistance.
But when Shawn overhears German soldiers discussing a mass deportation to Treblinka, Mordechai realizes they have almost no time left.
They need weapons.
They need people.
They need somewhere to organize.
And they need to be ready before the Nazis come.
THE CHARACTERS
MORDECHAI ANIELEWICZ — 21
The protagonist. A young man forced into leadership by circumstances no one should have to face. Mordechai begins the story trying to survive and ends it preparing his people to fight.
His greatest weakness is also his greatest strength: he cares deeply about the people around him.
Most of all, he wants to protect his younger sister, Eden.
SHAWN DANSKY — 19
Mordechai's best friend and trusted field operative.
Shawn knows the streets, hidden routes, tunnels, checkpoints and smuggling networks. Where Mordechai creates the plan, Shawn is the person willing to put himself in danger to make it happen.
Their friendship becomes the backbone of the resistance.
EDEN ANIELEWICZ — 12
Mordechai's younger sister.
Eden gives the story its emotional center. She is young enough to need her brother's protection but old enough to understand that something terrible is happening around her.
To Mordechai, saving Eden means saving his family.
Eventually, he realizes he must fight for everyone.
THE STORY
The film begins with survival.
It evolves into resistance.
And it culminates in a decision:
If they are going to die, will they die silently—or will they fight?
The discovery of the hidden smuggler bunker gives Mordechai and the resistance their headquarters.
They name it Ulica Mila 18.
It becomes the place where they prepare for the battle they know is coming.
THE EMOTIONAL CORE
At its heart, The Sound of Silence is not simply a story about war.
It is a story about friendship, family, grief, courage, and the moment an ordinary person realizes that someone has to stand up.
Mordechai doesn't begin as a hero.

The Sound of Silence represents the atmosphere surrounding Mordechai's community—the silence created by fear, oppression and uncertainty.
But silence cannot last forever.
Eventually, someone has to speak.
Someone has to act.
Someone has to fight.
And for Mordechai, that moment has arrived.
