When a retired Black Ops operative's pregnant fiancée is kidnapped,
he and his former teammate are forced into a deadly gauntlet of
high-stakes missions to get her back, uncovering a massive military
conspiracy as they race against the clock.
Marcus “Steel” Johnson and Quincy “Q” Reynolds, battle-hardened veterans of the 27th Black Ops, have left the uniform behind. Steel is about to become a father with his fiancée Selena; Q is the irreverent brother-in-arms still chasing the next thrill. A long-overdue weekend getaway is meant to be pure escape—until a single message flashes on Q’s phone: “Pick up or she dies,” accompanied by a photo of heavily pregnant Selena in a grocery aisle with a masked gunman standing behind her.
The caller’s rules are absolute. Four tasks. Deadline: 2000 hours the next day. No police. No outside help. Fail any one and Selena and the baby die. The first assignment is already in motion: intercept one of three armored vehicles moving through the city and seize a briefcase. Using every remnant of their old tradecraft—EMP, drones, smoke, precise route analysis—they pull off a near-bloodless ambush at an abandoned train yard. Inside the case is a blank flash drive… and a Polaroid of Selena bound in a concrete room.
Task two drops immediately: infiltrate ShadowGuard Tower—the private contractor that once recruited them straight out of the military—and plant the drive in a mainframe on a floor that officially does not exist. The enemy has deep inside knowledge of their histories, their safe houses, even the tracker Steel embedded in Selena’s engagement ring. Every move is watched. Every success only tightens the noose.
What begins as a desperate rescue becomes a high-velocity collision of past and present. The pair must become soldiers again—planning, improvising, and executing under extreme time pressure—while the personal cost mounts with every hour. The voice on the other end of the line is not merely testing their skills; it is rewriting the rules of a game they thought they had left behind.
Tone is pure kinetic thriller: sharp banter between lifelong brothers-in-arms, meticulous tradecraft sequences, and escalating dread as the missions reveal that the real target may be far larger than one pregnant woman. Think Extraction meets The Bourne Identity with the emotional core of two men who would burn the world to protect the family they finally dared to build.
At its heart, Trigger Point: ShadowGuard Protocol is about the moment the past refuses to stay buried and the only people who can stop it are the ones who once lived in its shadows.
