Description
This is the coverage report for "Santa Comes to Town" that was done by our producing partner Marty Katz. An excerpt from the comments section of the coverage follows:
“SHORTCUT TO HAPPINESS” meets “SANTA CLAUS (1959)” in this average script that heavily references “THE DEVIL AND DANIEL WEBSTER (1941)”. Although the vibrant and animated characters are the script’s strongest attributes, the execution of plot action weakens the potential for the story.
While the premise of the story is interesting enough, with the trigger of events starting with DANNY’s letter accidentally going to Satan instead of Santa, the rest of the story structure seems to just fall into place, without each action propelling the next. Especially for a story so whimsical yet linear, each preceding action must clearly be a result to prompt the next action of event.
